Community Service
Friends of the Mill Pond Oak Creek Watercourse, Inc annually schedule a spring and fall cleanup of the watercourse.
Volunteers from our organization along with occasional help from others such as South Milwaukee Middle School (teachers and students), DNR game wardens, and concerned members of the community diligently worked together to clean trash and debris from selected areas along the watercourse. Some of these items previously found (along with common trash) and removal are: shopping carts, a plastic slide, a payphone, tires, tire rims, crutches, bike tires, batteries, assortment balls and toys, a tricycle, couch canoe, fire extinguisher, jacket, container of oil, pieces of plywood, and a street barricade.
Clean up usually starts around 8am and ends around 12 noon. Our thanks to all who participate in this event. With everyone pitching in to help in the community, we can make a difference!
Friends of the Mill Pond and Oak Creek Watercourse, Inc provide safety vest, bags, bottle water, and vinyl gloves to participants. Volunteers are urged to bring tall boots if they have them
